Author Guidelines
LIQHA: Journal of Living Qur'an and Hadith invites researchers, academics, and practitioners to submit original manuscript articles that have not been previously published and are not currently under consideration by other journals.
Below are the general guidelines for authors preparing their manuscripts:
1. General Requirements
-
Manuscripts must be written in Indonesian or English using proper and correct grammar.
-
Manuscripts should be original research, systematic literature reviews, or conceptual studies relevant to the journal's focus and scope.
-
Manuscript submissions must be done entirely online through the OJS (Open Journal Systems) on this journal's website. Authors must Register as an Author before making a submission.
-
The manuscript file must be in Microsoft Word format (
.docor.docx). -
Authors are highly encouraged to use the Article Template provided by the journal's editorial team.
2. Formatting Guidelines
-
Manuscripts should be typed using a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12 pt), with 1 or 1.15 line spacing, on A4 size paper.
-
The recommended manuscript length is between 4,000 to 7,000 words (including references, tables, and figures).
-
Page margins should be set proportionally (e.g., Top 3 cm, Bottom 3 cm, Left 3 cm, Right 3 cm).
3. Manuscript Structure
Research manuscripts must include at least the following sections:
-
Title: The title must be concise, clear, and informative, with a maximum of 15 words. If the article is written in Indonesian, an English translation of the title must also be included.
-
Author Identity: Consists of the full names of the authors (without academic titles), their affiliations/institutions, and the email address of the corresponding author.
-
Abstract and Keywords: The abstract must be written in both English and Indonesian, with a maximum of 250 words. It should summarize the background, objectives, research methods, main results, and conclusions. Keywords should consist of 3–5 important concepts separated by semicolons (;).
-
Introduction: Contains the background of the problem, relevant literature review (state of the art), research gap (novelty), and research objectives. This section does not require a specific sub-heading for the literature review.
-
Methods: Explains the research design/type, participants/subjects, data collection instruments, and data analysis procedures clearly and measurably.
-
Results and Discussion: Presents the research findings systematically, supported by tables or figures if necessary. The discussion must connect the findings with prior theories or research, and explain the biopsychosocial and spiritual implications of those findings.
-
Conclusion: Summarizes the main findings concisely and clearly, without merely repeating sentences from the results section. Authors may also include research limitations and recommendations for future studies.
-
Acknowledgments (Optional): Addressed to research funders or parties who have made significant contributions to the study.
-
References: Includes all sources cited in the manuscript. A minimum of 80% of the references must be primary literature (scientific journals) published within the last 10 years.
4. In-house Style and Citation
-
LIQHA: Journal of Living Qur'an and Hadith uses the Turabian 9th Edition (Note and Bibliography) citation style.
-
Authors are required to use reference management software, such as Mendeley or Zotero, to ensure consistency in citations and the bibliography.
