About the Journal
International Literature of Muslim Understanding (ILMU) is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access international journal published by PT. Bingkai Media Advestama. Published biannually in June and December, ILMU provides a global scholarly platform for researchers, academicians, and intellectual communities to publish original research articles, review articles, and textual studies concerning Islam and Muslim societies.
The journal focuses on the intersection of classical Islamic intellectual traditions and contemporary developments. Its scope includes Islamic Thought, Philosophy and Theology; Qur'an, Hadith and Turath/Manuscript Studies; Islamic Education and Pedagogy; Islamic Law (Sharia) and Institutions; and Muslim Societies, Culture and Historical Dynamics.
ILMU aims to foster multidisciplinary dialogue and advance international understanding of Islamic scholarship and Muslim societies through high-quality and impactful academic literature. All published articles are freely accessible through open access, supporting the global exchange of scholarly knowledge without reader paywalls. The journal accepts manuscripts written in English only.
